Ballots Stolen From Mailboxes…Thrown On Roadsides And In Ditches In City East of Seattle

On Friday, we reported about how over 100 absentee ballots were found in a dumpster in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

The ballots never made it to their intended recipients and had not been filled out. This is another example of why voters are being encouraged to vote in person if they are able, instead of by mail.

After a contractor in Jefferson County, Ky. found 112 absentee ballots in a dumpster an investigation was launched by federal authorities. The USPS Office of the Inspector General’s Special Agents said they also found two political fliers as they investigated the ballots found in the dumpster.

Fox News is reporting that Police in a city just east of Seattle said on Friday that numerous mail ballots have been stolen from people’s mailboxes and placed or discarded elsewhere.

The post office alerted the Sammamish Police Department “that unopened or incomplete ballots have been inappropriately placed in out-going mail bins,” the city of Sammamish said Friday.

Police have also investigated bags of mail that had ballots in them on roadsides and in ditches.

The City of Sammamish released a statement to its citizens regarding the theft of the ballots: Sammamish PD and USPS will attempt to deliver the found ballots.

Brian Zinser, the postmaster of the Redmond Post Office, alerted the City of Sammamish and Sammamish PD that unopened or incomplete ballots have been inappropriately placed in out-going mail bins.

Sammamish PD has also been called to investigate bags of mail, including ballots discovered by roadsides and ditches.

USPS delivered about 90% of ballots in Sammamish on October 15th. Early this morning, carriers were out delivering Amazon packages when they discovered these missing ballots.

Meanwhile, please check and empty your mailboxes often; and please keep them locked. If you do not have a lock on your mailbox, please consider getting one through the post office.
